The Akonikien & LNG2Africa Project is one of our biggest projects to date and we are very proud of it, working with LNG2Africa and the Ministry of Mines and Hydrocarbons for Equatorial Guinea. The goal of this project in theory was simple, transportation and storage of LNG (Liquid Natural Gas) from the EG LNG plant at the Punta Europa Gas Complex on Bioko Island, heart of Bioko Norte, Malabo to Akonikien, the southern border of Equatorial Guinea's mainland.
From there it will be put into our Regasification Plant for storage and distribution. The gas from here will go onto fueling the local cement plant and distributed to various LNG power stations around Equatorial Guinea. Providing clean and environmentally friendly energy to countless people.
Now you may ask yourself, what is LNG? LNG is the liquid form of natural gas, one of the safest and cleanest fuels available. It emits less pollution than other fossil fuel sources.
When natural gas is burned, it produces mostly carbon dioxide and water vapor, the same substances emitted when humans exhale. Compared with some other fossil fuels, natural gas emits the least amount of carbon dioxide into the air when combusted, making natural gas the cleanest burning fossil fuel of all.
